Former Doctor Who star, Karen Gillan, has said that she would be interested in reprising her role as Amy Pond with a particular desire to reunite with her co-stars, Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill. In 2010, the modern era of Doctor Who underwent its first soft reboot following the incredibly successful 2005 revival by Russell T. Davies, which saw the program at the height of its popularity under the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant. Davies' successor, Steven Moffat, rose to the challenge, kicking off a brand new era of the long-running show with Smith's fan-favorite Eleventh Doctor and his companion, Amy Pond, played by Gillan.
Gillan instantly endeared herself to audiences as the feisty but vulnerable Pond who introduced a new dynamic into the TARDIS via her husband, Rory Williams (Darvill), before the two exited the show in 2012. Since leaving, Gillan has easily had one of the most successful careers of any Doctor Who alumni, landing prominent roles in major Hollywood blockbusters such as Ruby Roundhouse in the Jumaji sequels and Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy who later became a major player in the MCU's biggest film, Avengers Endgame. Gillan's star power has enabled her to lead new IP's like the action thriller Gunpowder Milkshake, and an upcoming Judd Apatow comedy, The Bubble.
