Morbius director Daniel Espinosa describes what Jared Leto's method acting approach was like on the set of the Marvel movie. Sony's latest addition to its budding Marvel universe has been beset by countless delays over the years, mostly caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Morbius will finally debut in theaters this weekend, introducing audiences to Leto's titular doctor-turned-vampire. The film also stars Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Tyrese Gibson, Jared Harris, and, to the bafflement of many fans, Michael Keaton as his Spider-Man: Homecoming villain Adrian Toomes, aka the Vulture.
Dr. Michael Morbius has a rare blood disease for which there is no cure. Not satisfied with that, Morbius has dedicated his entire life to finding a potential fix for his situation, and his latest radical solution leaves him with a strange form of vampirism. Morbius the film looks to follow Michael's transformation into the character, who is often portrayed as a Spider-Man villain in the comics. Espinosa recently hinted Sony is looking to finally make a Sinister Six movie, and Morbius could be at the center alongside those like the Vulture.

If that's the case, then Leto will be spending a lot more time with and as Michael in the future. Speaking to GamesRadar+, Espinosa recalled what it was like working with Leto, whose method approach to particular characters is well-known throughout Hollywood. The Oscar winner did indeed live as Morbius throughout production, but it doesn't sound quite as dramatic as past rumors about Leto's behavior would have people believe. Espinosa said:
