While much of the cryptic mystery behind Peele's newest horror film sits behind closed doors, the director provided some insight into the main characters' ominous antagonists.
The promotional rollout for Nope has been one coated in secrecy. Peele provided the first mention of Nope via social media in the form of a poster that showcased a singular cloud hovering above a small town. Many speculated that the poster's image could represent an extra-terrestrial threat, but nothing surfaced to confirm assumptions. Universal's first trailer from the horror film arrived in February and sparked excitement for the narrative but still failed to reveal the hidden mystery hovering in the sky.

«The discovery and the surprise of it is part of the fun,» stated Peele during a brief Q&A session at the convention. «Trailers will give you a taste, but we want to retain some of the mystery, so you can be satisfied going to the damn movie.» Peele presented an extended Nope trailer for the CinemaCon audience, which included more insight into the mysterious extra-terrestrial storyline, confirming that aliens will indeed be the threat within his upcoming film.
Peele asked that the audience not reveal any details about new footage since the trailer won't officially arrive for several more weeks.
