On the surface, it seems like the greatest threat to humanity has always been the Xenomorphs throughout the Alien franchise as they are the perfect organism and absolute killing machines. However, the real threat has been lurking behind the more obvious monsters all along, and they have just revealed a weakness that humans can finally use against them.
Since the very first Alien film, the Synthetics have always been the most threatening, and even the most menacing, aspect of the Alien franchise. In the first film, the Synthetic Ash orchestrates the crew’s exposure to the deadly alien life form and even tries to kill Ripley with his bare hands when she discovers the android’s dark mission. In the prequel films, Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, the Synthetic David betrays both groups of people he finds himself with for the sake of his own sick experiments, ones that end up producing Xenomorphs. There is a deep history connecting Synthetics with Xenomorphs with many examples of them choosing the survival of the aliens over that of humans, and that trend continues even to this day.

In Alien #11 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Salvador Larroca, the settlers on the moon settlement Euridice are running for their lives after a horde of Xenomorphs appeared on their world and completely overrun their community.
