Bethesda Game Studios' beloved role-playing series takes players to a quirky and creepy post-apocalyptic version of the United States. There are multiple real places that inspired Fallout games, but now a mischievous gamer will give San Francisco residents their own post-nuclear questline.
Created by Black Isle Studios, and later developed by Bethesda Game Studios, the Fallout series gives gamers a tour of America following a devastating nuclear war. The first two titles, which took the form of isometric turn-based role-playing games, took place in South California and other parts of the West Coast. Bethesda Game Studios' Fallout 3, a first-person shooter, later shipped players across the country for a journey through the ravaged ruins of Washington D.C. Fallout 4 recreates Boston, meanwhile, and the online multiplayer title Fallout 76 brings players to West Virginia. Fallout 5 setting rumors suggest that the next game could bring players to New Orleans or Chicago, though Bethesda has stated that the game is many years away.

To honor the post-nuclear role-playing franchise, Reddit user mafnxxx is apparently heading for San Francisco to hide a box of Fallout Vault Boy bobbleheads. The series' beloved mascot, who takes the form of a cheerful Vault patron, appears throughout the franchise to represent certain skills or tutorials. While gamers could previously find Vault Boy bobbleheads in virtual cities like Washington D.C. and Boston, Vault Boy will soon make a physical appearance in San Francisco.
