Sony PlayStation 5 will be made in unprecedented numbers, says Sony. In a recent report, it is said that Sony has vowed to increase the PS5 console production “to levels it has never achieved before”. This is being done in order to keep up with the surging demand. Sony said this in a meeting with investors, wherein it also highlighted the successes and struggles the company has faced since launching the PS5 console. Sony also hopes to sell the PS5 consoles more than the PS4 consoles by 2024.
In the report from Gizmodo, it is said that Sony has confirmed increasing the production of the PlayStation 5 console. Sony also said that it was able to sell only 2 million PS5 consoles in the last quarter, which added to the overall quota of 19.3 million units since its launch. There is also some information on how it is going to tackle the chip supply shortage situation.

In the report, it says that Sony can increase supply quickly enough for the PS5 console to overtake the PS4 console by 2024. Until then, Sony will turn to multiple suppliers for “greater agility in unstable market conditions” to manage the supply shortages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and avoid any issues with “logistics and parts inventory”.
What remains to be seen is how soon do we get to see Sony PS5 units available ins stocks. At the moment, Sony India is selling the PS5 consoles in limited batches. Microsoft, on the other hand, has been selling the cheaper Xbox Series S console more in frequent sales on Flipkart and Amazon.
