V Rising, a new vampire survival RPG from indie developer Stunlock Studios, has become an overnight success, making players question if V Rising could be coming to current-gen consoles soon. V Rising, now available in early access on Steam, has exploded in the few days since it opened to the public, even boasting over 1,000,000 copies sold since its release on May 18. The game slowly built a great deal of hype as an eclectic mix of crafting, survival, and multiplayer vampire action in the months before its release. Now that the game is being enjoyed by over a million players, many are asking whether Stunlock Studios has any plans of porting the game to consoles.
V Rising is an interesting game to describe, mixing elements of survival, action, roleplaying, MMO, crafting, and open-world gameplay. Vampire castle-building in V Rising is quite satisfying, and is directly tied to growing a vampire empire. Survival and resource gathering is challenging and thoroughly engaging. The world players inhabit is beautifully detailed, and provides plenty of unique combat opportunities and hours of exploration. Expanding V Rising to consoles would expand the game's player base exponentially, and bring its exciting brand of vampire RPG gameplay to the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
