Announced as part of the Xbox and Bethesda event of Summer Game Fest 2022, Naraka: Bladepoint is coming to Xbox consoles later this month with cross-play support for PCs. Developed by Chinese studio 24 Entertainment and released last August, Naraka: Bladepoint sets itself apart from other multiplayer battle royale titles by putting the focus on melee combat and parkour-like transversal over gunplay. Naraka: Bladepoint features 10 customizable playable characters with their own weapons, fighting styles, and special abilities in a rock-paper-scissors-like combat system.
Naraka: Bladepoint has sold millions of copies to date, and became one of the fastest-selling Chinese PC games in history mere months following its launch last summer. This success has been bolstered by several in-game events and expansions, including the first-ever Naraka: Bladepoint World Championship competition in Singapore back in January. Before that, 24 Entertainment added three additional DLC characters to the game’s initial seven-fighter roster, introduced a 1v1 game mode inspired by the classic Jean-Claude Van Damme movie Bloodsport, and even held a special Naraka: Bladepoint promotion in honor of Bruce Lee last December. Now, Naraka: Bladepoint is branching out onto consoles after nearly a year of being available solely on PC.
