The Fast and the Furious franchise may never run out of inventive ways to keep the fans coming back for more. Now, if discussions with Aquaman star Jason Momoa go their way, the filmmakers may have found a way to continue enticing audiences.
The Fast and Furious team has been in talks with Momoa to be in the franchise's next installment. Momoa, who is best known these days for playing the superhero Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe, would bring a magnetic presence to the next film not just because of how popular he is as an actor, but because of both his charisma and his status as a beefcake.
The Fast & Furious Series Should Just Go To Space Already
While nothing is set in stone as of now, The Hollywood Reporter has learned Momoa is in final negotiations to star in the franchise's next installment as the main villain of the story if he is officially signed on. Given that Momoa has proven through his charm and his build that he can attract a massive audience in years past, this would be a welcome addition to a popular franchise that has managed to stay relevant in spite of relying on the same gimmick for two decades now. This should also prove to be quite a change of pace for Momoa acting-wise.
Since his most well-known role by far in Hollywood is playing a superhero, playing a villain this time could be quite the test for him as an actor. Granted, he would potentially be playing a one-time antagonist in Fast and Furious 10, but seeing him explore a completely different avenue acting-wise is something both he and his fans should be very intrigued by. We've seen big-time actors who were regularly cast as the heroes in their previous movies get even more recognition for going against their archetype by playing the antagonist
