Crunchyroll Game Vault is upon us! This extra in-app treat comes just in time for Christmas for all the super weebs pledged to their Mega and Ultimate Fan subscription tier. Similar to the strides Netflix has taken in recent years, this anime-central subscription service is now bringing a roster of games to its platform.
The Crunchyroll Game Vault will drop across Android and iOS. We lucky droid gamers (get it?) already have access to the launched platform, whereas iOS will have to wait a bit longer for their apps. Whilst this new service is technically free, it’s exclusive to the latter two paying subscription tiers. In a way, this honours the game titles featured there as quite the premium selection!
Similar to how Netflix has expanded its gaming platform, Crunchyroll Game Vault will be released in pulses. On launch, we weebs (me very much included) get our hands on River City Girls – a beat ’em up style game, and Wolfstride, the partner in crime RPG in black and white!
There are a few other titles that trickle in with this launch so don’t shy away yet. Hauling in behind the bigger names are Captain Velvet Meteor, Behind The Frame, and Inbento. You can get the full scope by checking out the announcement trailer:
On a personal note, unless Crunchy somehow magically gets the JJK Phantom Parade game on there with a Global Release, I’ll be sticking to my other silly games external to the vault. Regardless, this is quite the expansion for the company so it’ll be interesting to see what tricks they introduce next to boost subscription sales.
