A new trailer for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince draws near. This newest trailer emphasizes the monsters that Psaro will be wrangling and synthesizing in the upcoming monster catching game. The showcased monsters include some rather strange and food themed creatures, but anyone who has been following Dragon Quest is aware the numerous dreadful puns that are used in coming up with names for the bestiary. Some of these include the Goonache Goodie which appears to be a chocolate slime, Vegan Dragora, Croc-a-Bugle-Doo, King Jester Slime and the Sugar Baddie. These new and strange creatures will also be joined several of the more iconic Dragon Quest monsters that occupy the majority of the games such as the Great Sabrecub, Dracky, Funghoul and of course Slimes.
Catching Monsters is an important part in becoming the Master of Monsterkind but catching stronger monsters is only part of the equation. As is tradition in Dragon Quest Monsters games synthesizing monsters is an essential part of getting the best and most powerful creatures to help Psaro reach his goals. The trailer posted below shows one example of synthesis, which is combining a Slime with a Succubat in order to create the devilish Dark Slime. The available demo only scratched the surface of what is possible in this game but from what we were able to gather it seems like there is going to be an immense about of options and room for experimentation in playing god in creating new monster life forms. While we haven’t had access to the complete game yet playing with monster synthesis is likely going to be a major component of trying to create the ultimate team of monster minions.
