And when it comes to the two most popular options, there are multiple reasons why Tifa or Aerith might be the better option to romance.

One of the biggest differences in their scenes is that Tifa has an easier time breaking through Cloud's cold exterior, which gets her more romantic options without the need for too much affinity. With Aerith, Cloud tries to maintain distance with her, but there's a more intimate ending that can be unlocked with a high level of affinity. In the context of the history of each couple and their circumstances, both Tifa and Aerith are fitting date options in a canon sense.

Tifa and Cloud have a lot of history since they grew up in the same town and went through the Nibelheim incident together. They even bond during their date over their inability to completely remember what happened the day that Sephiroth went on a rampage.
