Intel to Release ‘Millions of Arc GPUs’ to Combat Shortages
The last year or so has been a tough one for anyone looking to get either a new graphics card or a current gen console. With the chip shortages all but bringing the tech industry to its knees, it's not surprising that Nvidia saw its new RTX 3050 sell out immediately, and similarly with AMD's latest budget GPU. With Intel about to unleash its own brand of cards onto the market, there are some promises being thrown around by people in the company, who are keen to make sure potential buyers have access to an Arc product when it's released.
After a plea from PC Gamer, which included an open letter to Intel as well as a tweet asking CEO Pat Gelsinger to «help us,» the boss of Intel Graphics, Raja Koduri, has offered some words of encouragement. Specifically, they insist that the company is «working hard» to ensure that people will have access to «millions of Arc GPUs» every year, in a bid to plug a hole in the deficit that has been raging on, and leaving PC gamers struggling to get hold of hardware, for well over twelve months now.

Whether this will come to fruition remains to be seen. After all, Nvidia also promised increased supplies of its RTX 3050, and that card was sold out almost as soon as it became available. However, no one really knows how well Intel will be able to handle the shortages and whether it has the capacity to offer millions of products at a time when purchasing a new GPU is next to impossible, unless customers are willing to pay way above the MSRP for the privilege.
