One important aspect outside of combat in is romance, which involves understanding how to properly pave the way with each companion, including Halsin. Halsin is a male druid that the party will encounter after reaching a certain point in the main storyline. However, he's unique in regards to romancing him.

Unlike the other camp companions you will initially encounter, Halsin will not initially be a true companion. He will set up a space in your camp, but he won't be joining missions just yet. This can make it exceptionally hard to win his favor, but he's worth it since his Druid Class in makes him one of the more unique romance partners and a valuable ally.

First and foremost, before players can romance Halsin, they need to have acquired him. This will happen in Act 1 when reaching Druid's Grove. The party will be tasked with rescuing Halsin safely from a nearby Goblin Camp where he is being held prisoner. To rescue him, three different Goblin leaders must be defeated, including Minthara, Gut, and Drog. Note that there is a way to recruit Minthara with Halsin in instead of killing her, but it will require a little more work.
Once each of them has been defeated within the Goblin Camp, head down to the Worg Pens to find Halsin being held in one of the cells there guarded by Goblins. He will be in his wild Bear form and assist in the fight that ensues upon releasing him. After saving him, there will be a celebration held in camp where he will settle in, but he will still be unable to officially join the party.
