Shortly after entering the open world, players will be prompted to search a nearby area for resources, at which point they may encounter the NPC Mary, who tells them to craft a weapon.
Once this objective is completed, Mary can be spoken to at the Deadsville settlement. This triggers a short chain of conversations, where players are asked to speak with Claire, a nearby merchant, and a mysterious gentleman in Deadsville.
With a clear objective to investigate something in the open world, players will then get Mary's Motorcycle. This can be claimed by pressing F, which adds it to the player inventory, and then summoned by pressing G.
