The Servers Not Responding Error in Fortnite is caused by a worldwide server outage. This means that the Fortnite servers are down for everyone, not only a single user. Every player trying to log into the game at that point will see the same error message.
At the time of writing on December 2, 2023, there is a period of unplanned server downtime following The Big Bang Event that ended Fortnite’s OG Season. This downtime was announced by the official Fortnite Status Twitter account, which outlined that Epic Games had taken servers offline to fix something caused by the massive influx of players who attended the event.
The plan seems to be that Epic Games will bring servers back online soon so that players can watch the second and third showings of The Big Bang Event. However, that may not happen if the servers can’t be brought back online.
