A Skyrim player online has shared a bizarre bug, which seems to give Hadvar a horse’s head during the game’s introduction. Skyrim players are no strangers to odd visual glitches, but this one is among the most disturbing to look at.
As a Bethesda game, bugs are a typical part of the Skyrim experience. Given the fact that most remaining in the game aren’t exactly game-breaking anymore, many players actually find them funny. One recent Skyrim bug caused players to lose both their arms after finishing a quest, which is certainly an interesting sight for players to come across. Because Skyrim is such a massive game, it’s unlikely that all the bugs have been found, even over 12 years after it was released.
This particular bug was posted to Reddit by user Leavemyside, who was in the middle of playing through Skyrim’s famous introduction. When called forward by the Imperial Hadvar, they’re instead greeted with an enormous horse’s head, which is a strange sight indeed. Many in the thread couldn’t resist the opportunity to compare the glitch with the TV show Bojack Horseman, and the comparisons are pretty fair. The hilarity of the issue is just one of the many reasons why Skyrim remains one of the best open-world games of all time.
It isn’t clear what exactly caused this hilarious Skyrim bug. It’s unlikely that Hadvar actually has a horse’s head — instead, it’s more likely a clipping bug, where the horse is facing the wrong way and clipping straight through the NPC. The fixed perspective then makes it seem as though Hadvar has become a horse, which, even for the funniest glitches in all Bethesda games, would be particularly out there.
