may undergo another massive change in its metagame as the arrival of several new ship upgrades could alter the way everyone plays. Yet another example of developer Arrowhead Studios quietly dropping in additional content without notifying the community, the latest batch of Super Destroyer improvements is likely to help Helldivers push back against the invading Automaton fleet that's looking for revenge. The massive rush of Bots in the North-West sector has players scrambling to form some kind of defense to prevent the unrelenting enemy from advancing any closer to Super Earth.
Posted to Reddit, the six new modules, one for each section of the Super Destroyer include theXXL Weapon's Bay (Hangar), Enhanced Combustion (Bridge), Blast Absorption (Robotic Workshop), Atmospheric Monitoring (Orbital Cannons), Circuit Expansion (Engineering Bay), and Superior Packing Methodology (Patriotic Administration Center).
Each of these new modules comes with additional perks that should make the battle against the Automatons and Terminids slightly easier. It's worth noting though that they're exceptionally expensive, meaning Helldivers will likely need to grind out plenty of drops to eventually unlock them.
At first glance, it may seem strange that such minor upgrades like Eagle Stratagems dropping one additional bomb or Supply Boxes filling up support weapons to their maximum capacity could have an impact on meta but they could significantly impact loadout choices. The biggest shift will likely be towards the use of Flamethrowers, Napalm Airstrikes, and Incendiary Mines given that the Enhanced Combustion module increases all fire damage by 25%. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Terminids squashed with the aforementioned gear, especially since players have long called for the Flamethrower to be buffed.
Be prepared to fork over a ton of resources for the Enhanced Combustion upgrade as the module costs 200 Samples, 150 Rare Samples, 15 Super Samples, and 25,000 Credits.
