Fallout fans have widely praised the television show on Amazon Prime, and one Fallout 4 player in particular has chosen to recreate Norm MacLean as the Sole Survivor. Though the show sparked some initial controversy in the Fallout community due to a misunderstanding about how it fits into the timeline after Fallout: New Vegas, it has ultimately been embraced by a majority of fans – and perhaps most importantly – it brought a lot of new players to Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and even the older titles.
While Fallout 76 is the latest installment in the franchise, and receives regular updates from the development team at Bethesda, it could be argued that Fallout 4 is the best entry point for fans of the show. The premiere of Fallout on Amazon Prime coincided with the release of a Next Gen update for Fallout 4, which integrated certain Creation Club content into the game, most notably bringing back the Enclave as an enemy faction.
However, both newcomers and veteran players alike have grown to love the main cast of characters from the Fallout show, and many have tried to recreate their favorites in Fallout 76 and Fallout 4. Most recently, VaultGirl2077 attempted to make their Sole Survivor in Fallout 4 resemble Norm MacLean, the younger brother of Lucy MacLean – who is the main protagonist of the show. While marketing largely focused on Lucy, Maximus, and the Ghoul, Norm's popularity was entirely built by fans who enjoyed his investigatory skills as he navigated the dark mystery of Vault 31.
The character creation tools in Fallout 4 have allowed players to recreate celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bryan Cranston. Though it may be outdated compared to those of more modern games such as Starfield or Dragon's Dogma 2, one noteworthy aspect of Fallout 4's character creator is its sculpting approach to facial sliders. Instead of going through a long list, players can simply select the facial part they want to change, and drag it in the direction of their choosing.
