Award-winning executive producer Shonda Rhimes, the creator behind hit shows Grey’s Anatony, How to Get Away with Murder, and Scandal, recently teased what fans can expect from the Season 3 ending.
During a recent interview with The Today Show, Rhimes shared her reaction to watching the Bridgerton Season 3 ending, confirming that the conclusion to Colin and Penelope’s love story definitely made her emotional.
“We’re very secretive about it but I will say it is sexy and surprising in many ways,” Rhimes revealed. “And also, I cried at the end, I found it very moving — and I don’t always cry. So I really go into it.”
Following the released of its first batch of episodes last May 16, Bridgerton will resume its third season next week on Thursday, June 13 on Netflix with the remaining four episodes. Season 3 Part 1 ended on a cliffhanger after Colin finally asked Penelope to marry him. The next episodes will deal with aftermath of their surprise engagement while Queen Charlotte declares that she will give a large sum of bounty to whoever can unmask Lady Whistledown.
Based on Julia Quinn’s bestselling novel series, Bridgerton is executive produced by Shonda Rhimes and showrunner Jess Brownell. It stars Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton, Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, Claudia Jessie, Ruby Barker, Sabrina Bartlett, Ruth Gemmell, Adjoa Andoh, Polly Walker, Bessie Carter, Simone Ashley, and Harriet Cains, with Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown.
