Helldivers 2's previous weapons balance patches were - and still are - very controversial with the playerbase. A range of weapons have been hit with nerfs, including some incredibly popular picks in the last balance patch. So, it comes as little surprise that many players are eagerly awaiting the next round of balances, hoping that some of the changes will be reverted.
Just don't get your hopes up, because it isn't ready just yet. Over in the Helldivers 2 Discord, a community manager was asked if the patch will be ready to drop anytime soon, or if the devs need more time. Their response was brief, but to the point: "More time. We're cooking."
This comes to us courtesy of Reddit user jhongover9000, who shared the interaction on the Helldivers subreddit.
In the replies, many fans indicate that they're happy to wait, as long as it means they get an enjoyable patch eventually. However, some are still fearful of the results, given what we got last time, and need a bit more convincing than this.
A whole lot of weapons were affected by the last round of nerfs, as you can see here in the patch notes, but players seem to miss the Eruptor in particular. After the update, the number of mags it could hold at once went from 12 to 6, and explosion damage was nerfed.
While we can't see the patch notes just yet, it's very likely that some of the weapon nerfs will either be reverted, or we'll get some buffs for our trouble. This is because Helldivers 2 director Johan Pilestedt has recently said that the team has "gone too far in some areas", in terms of nerfs. He added that they were discussing the issue, and admitted that, "It feels like every time someone finds something fun, the fun is removed."
We'll just have to wait and see how long it takes the devs to cook up another balance patch. At the very least, they should hopefully have more time now that the update which would have added forced PSN integration to Helldivers 2 is out now. As players will know, the PSN
