Since freeing herself from his abusive influence and manipulative control, Harley Quinn has made an effort to never cross paths with the Joker if she can help it, though all those years with the Clown Prince of Crime definitely left its mark as Harley evidently adopted some of the Joker’s killing style which was made clear when she one-upped the Joker’s most famous kill from The Dark Knight. The Joker has always been more of a schemer than a brawler, as he more often than not sets traps and puts people in nightmarish situations for his own amusement rather than opting to fight hand-to-hand, whereas Harley Quinn has the desire and skillset to get her hands dirty whenever the opportunity arises. So, when the Joker did brutally kill someone with his bare hands, it only makes sense that Harley Quinn would use his same technique later on, and in a way that one-ups her abusive ex.
In Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey #1 by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, a building Harley Quinn is leasing gets burned down by the people she owes money to, and the people the company sent to do their dirty work also roughed up one of Harley’s friends who was there at that time. In response, Harley launches a full-scale attack against the company and their enforcers by heading to their office and giving them a taste of their own medicine.
