The juggernauts that are Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 just refuse to stop selling. The former is more than a decade old, while the latter launched nearly six years ago, but as is usually the case, both were, once again, big sellers for Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive during 2023’s final quarter.
In its recent quarterly fiscal report, Take-Two Interactive revealed that as of December 31, Grand Theft Auto 5 has sold 195 million units worldwide, up from 190 million units as of the end of the preceding quarter. Meanwhile, the series’ total sales now stand at 420 million units to date (up from 410 million).
Red Dead Redemption 2 fared well, too. The open world Western epic has now sold 61 million units worldwide, up from 57 million units. Meanwhile, the Red Dead Redemption franchise’s sales are up to 86 million units (up from 81 million).
Rockstar is now, of course, moving full steam ahead on the development of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is due out for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
