Gothic Remake Gets Pretty New UE5 Screens; Collector’s Edition Now Available for Pre-Order
It's been over four years since we last covered the Gothic Remake. As you might remember, it all began with the so-called Playable Teaser that appeared suddenly on Steam in December 2019.
The Gothic PT (which is still available for download on Steam) didn't exactly earn a great reception from fans, who thought it made far too many changes to the original formula, starting with the excessively bright colors. THQ Nordic gathered all the feedback and returned to fans in February 2020, announcing that the Gothic Remake would be made after all and would be far grittier than the Playable Teaser.

The publisher has established a new developer called Alkimia Interactive in Barcelona, Spain, with the specific goal of bringing the remake to completion. After four years, it looks like we might be inching closer to a release window. Yesterday, THQ Nordic unveiled the limited Gothic Remake Collector's Edition, now available for pre-order via the official website.
Priced at € 199.99 / $ 199.99 / £ 169.99, the Collector's Edition includes the following items:
- 34x24 cm Sleeper Mask with wall mount
- Real leather notebook
- Real leather bracelet
- Original soundtrack
- Gothic Remake Game
The Standard Edition is also available for pre-order on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox at $59.99. Interestingly, when you select one of the platforms, a message appears to inform the consumer that the product will be released 'by December 31, 2024'. Obviously, that's a placeholder date, but it suggests the game could launch within the year. As if to confirm such hopes, Alkimia Interactive also shared a new batch of screenshots that show the team's progress with Unreal Engine 5.
