Yesterday, Gotham Knights announced which of its playable protagonists would receive the next character spotlight in a brief teaser. Leaving nothing to ambiguity, Gotham Knights all but explicitly stated that Robin would be featured.
Gotham Knights’ protagonists may already be familiar to a lot of fans, but it is important to remember that the game operates within its own continuity. Bruce Wayne has seemingly died, leaving the role of Gotham City’s vigilant protector up to Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin, and their motivations will all be laid bare as they work together. Now, the latest character spotlight offers a glimpse into Time Drake’s own motivations, and shares gameplay and cosmetics that have not been seen before.
Gotham Knights Announces Its Next Character Spotlight
Like Nightwing’s own Gotham Knights character spotlight from earlier this month, Robin is highlighted today in his own edit of cinematic gameplay. Capturing in-engine footage, Robin can be seen using Justice League satellite teleportation technology to traverse the environment and creatively engage with enemies, firing stun projectiles into the air, and even spinning his collapsible quarterstaff to deflect enemy gunfire.
Tim has a lot to live up to in Gotham Knights, being the heir apparent to a deceased Batman and working alongside former Robins in Dick Grayson’s Nightwing and Jason Todd’s Red Hood. This is emphasized in the spotlight’s narration from Robin. It makes sense narrative-wise that Batman’s death would greatly affect Robin, but he seems confidently prepared to live up to Batman’s expectations.
