A player of unintentionally brought about a painfully relatable moment by creating an especially ambitious Sim. Depending on mods, packs, characters, and gameplay approach, can either be a highly realistic simulation of life, or a supernatural romp full of vampires, werewolves, and plant people. But sometimes, its most realistic moments come about when the player isn't even trying, as a Reddit user recently shared online.
Parentheticalboys posted a screenshot of one of their Sims on the subreddit that revealed lofty goals well beyond their means. The Sim's most prominent aspiration reads, "," and requires them to spend 10,000 Simoleons or more on a violin in Build Mode. However, the Sim only has seven Simoleons in their bank account at the time the screenshot was taken, suggesting they still have a long way to go. The caption simply reads, "," suggesting even the player knows they won't be affording that any time soon.
Many players took the opportunity to relate to this overly ambitious Sim, wanting an item they'd likely never be able to afford. One player, Lopsided_Ninja_8391, went as far as to say, "." In the midst of pre-holiday shopping, not to mention a fairly new expansion pack, many players could relate to the feeling of spending money they don't have. Other players, like Thusgirl, didn't care how far off the goal seemed; they believed it'd be worth it in the end. Rather than just let the aspiration disappear over time, some users suggested pinning it so it'd remain in the back of the Sim's mind, and could eventually be achieved when (or if) they'd saved up enough money.
Good things may come to those who wait, but that doesn't mean the 10,000 Simoleon violin would be worth it. Other players, like CalzoneCat, noticed another detail: the reward for completing this ambition was a paltry 50 points, hardly worth the years it'd take to save up the money, not to mention the pain of parting with it.
