New details about Ghostwire: Tokyo confirm that feeding dogs around the city unlocks access to Meika rewards and much more. Announced during publisher Bethesda Softworks' E3 2019 press conference, Ghostwire: Tokyo spent a lengthy period of time out of the public eye, only entering the spotlight a few times in the last couple of years or so. That much changed earlier this month, however, when PlayStation hosted a digital Ghostwire: Tokyo showcase, complete with a gameplay deep dive and spring release date details.
Developer Tango Gameworks captured the recent gameplay footage on PS5, showing off the action title's terrifying enemies and intense first-person combat. Most notably, it all comes to bear in a story wherein much of Tokyo's population has mysteriously vanished without a trace. What remains on the streets of the usually packed city are a host of supernatural beings, strange creatures who come in various shapes and sizes. For their part, players assume the role of a young man who awakens in the deserted city center, with a spirit trapped inside his head and elemental powers at his fingertips. The story powering Ghostwire: Tokyo, naturally, tasks players with using the mysterious spirit to uncover the truth behind the vanishing.

Today, February 16, the official Ghostwire: Tokyo Twitter account shared a new gameplay clip of the player character interacting with a dog. According to the post, users will have the option to feed dogs around the city and, in return, receive rewards in the form of Meika — the post-vanishing in-game currency.
