With just a little over a week until Horizon Forbidden West is officially out in the wild, the folks over at Sucker Punch Productions are getting in on the excitement. The studio has announced a new patch for Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut that will offer players a new outfit for Jin Sakai inspired by Horizon’s heroine Aloy. This is not the first time that Sucker Punch has paid homage to fellow PlayStation titles through its game and those who grabbed the previously released outfits will be familiar with how to obtain this new getup.
Sucker Punch’s official Twitter shared the news of this patch earlier today, saying that the studio is “so excited for Horizon Forbidden West from our friends at Guerilla”. This new patch will “repair a Wind Shrine to the north of Iki Island” and any player who solves the puzzle of the Shrine will “earn an Aloy-inspired surprise…”. The tweet was accompanied by a preview of Jin donning the outfit. With a bow in hand, he looks like he just returned from a mission with the Nora Tribe.

This is not the first time that a Horizon-inspired outfit has made its way into Ghost of Tsushima. Last January, Sucker Punch introduced four different outfits inspired by iconic PlayStation characters to utilize in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. An Aloy getup was joined by outfits inspired by God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, and Bloodborne. These were obtained by playing through the Legends story or survival missions in corresponding classes.
However, only three of those outfits made their way into the main storyline of Ghost of Tsushima. Completing three specific shrines will grant players the Bloodborne, Shadow of the Colossus, and God of War outfits.
