In a new spotlight featuring Blizzard Entertainment senior writer Christie Golden, the author of over a dozen Warcraft novels discusses her process, the changing landscape of gaming, and her upcoming novel about Sylvanas Windrunner — an excerpt of which was recently shared by IGN. Although Golden has written numerous books for the Warcraft and Starcraft universes since 2001, beginning with the celebrated Warcraft 3 prequel novel Lord of the Clans, she's been a senior writer working directly on story and franchise development at Blizzard Entertainment since 2017.
In this capacity, she continues to write books, most recently including Before the Storm and Exploring Azeroth: Eastern Kingdoms, but also contributes to the development of storylines, voice acted cinematic dialogue, and has even contributed to the lyrics of various Hearthstone trailer songs. In addition to her work with Blizzard Entertainment, she's also written several books within the Assassin's Creed, Ravenloft, Star Wars, and Star Trek franchises, as well as various other fantasy novels.
