Star Trek fans have been fed very well in the past few years, with all the new shows and seasons, and now fans even have a new video game experience to look forward to in Star Trek: Resurgence. Now, a video has been released with video game footage of one of the most iconic characters in all of sci-fi, Mr. Spock.
Originally announced at the Gaming Awards in 2021, Star Trek: Resurgence is the newest game in the franchise. It is being developed by Dramatic Lab, an indie developer featuring a lot of the veteran talent formally part of Telltale Games. The game will be set post-The Next Generation era on the U.S.S. Resolute.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew is Being Delisted
The video released by IGN shows off some gameplay footage from Star Trek: Resurgence, with Spock being present in the gameplay. The footage is about seven minutes long and gives fans a good amount of information to gauge what this game is going to be like. The video shows Spock arriving in the observation deck/ meeting room of the U.S.S Resolute with the captain to meet with the senior officers to brief them on the mission at hand. Throughout the video, there are decisions for conversation points for the player character to bring to the discussion that pops up with controller buttons from an Xbox controller, showing off the decision-making gameplay and examples of the options available.
The gameplay gives off a feeling similar to the Mass Effect games with the decision-making, but in the Star Trek universe instead. The voice actor portraying Spock does a great job at emulating the late Leonard Nimoy's speech patterns in an effort to do justice to the character and it feels very organic in this setting.
