Today’s Xbox games Showcase played host to more than a couple of interesting surprises, and among those was Dungeons of Hinterberg, an action-RPG game with social simulation elements from developers Microbird that seemingly came out of nowhere. It looks impressive, sounds intriguing, and quite notably, features sword surfing that lets you hover above the ground in its trailer seen below, which as established recently, makes your game an automatic winner.
The game is set in the titular village of Hinterberg, located in the Austrian Alps, a tourist destination where adventurers flock to in order to try and complete the Dungeon Challenge. A mix of modern and fantasy designs, Hinterberg is where our protagonist will slash their way through twenty-five dungeons, face off against numerous bosses and challenging puzzles, and in between hand around Hinterberg and may get some drinks with the locals, building up your relationships in the process. Dungeons of Hinterberg is set for a 2024 release on Xbox and PC, and should hopefully provide some unique hack-and-slash fun.
