Developer HoYoverse has already confirmed that the upcoming major update to Genshin Impact will introduce a brand-new nation called Sumeru. While most Genshin Impact updates have a similar banner layout, it seems like the first Sumeru update could see some bigger adjustments.

A recent update by one of the most credible Genshin Impact leakers named Lumie has revealed that the upcoming Genshin Impact Version 3.0 will apparently have three banner cycles. The game has already confirmed the arrival of three new characters: Tighnari, Collei, and Dori. According to Limie, Tighnari and Collei will appear on the first banner, and Dori is scheduled for the second part of the update. This would not be the first time for HoYoverse to introduce three separate banner cycles in one update. Genshin Impact Version 1.3 had three two-week banners that featured three different characters.
The fact that Tighnari is the only new five-star character to appear on the banner means that all the other banners will feature character re-runs. Recent Genshin Impact leaks have been hinting that these re-runs will most likely include two famous characters, Zhongli and Ganyu. Multiple replies in the comment section claim that one of the reasons behind HoYoverse's decision to add another banner is the fact that recent rumors revealed that Tighnari will apparently join the Standard Banner after 3.0 ends.
