Genshin Impact Leaks Claim Tighnari Could Join Standard Banner after 3.0
One of the biggest contributors to Genshin Impact's explosion in popularity over the nearly two years since its launch has been its characters. Characters like Ganyu, Ayaka, and Raiden Shogun have become faces of the action-RPG throughout its life. Raiden Shogun in particular has earned almost $30 million for HoYoverse between her launch gacha banner and her re-run with Kokomi in March. However, the game's standard gacha banner has been a major criticism from fans, something that recent leaks suggest HoYoverse may be trying to fix.
Genshin Impact's standard banner has been a permanent fixture of the game's gacha system since it fully released in September 2020. The permanent banner takes a different kind of currency from limited banners in Acquaint Fates and has seen new four-star characters added frequently a few months after their initial launch. However, Genshin's permanent banner has not added a new five-star to its pool of available characters since the game's launch, retaining the same five characters. Now, a recent leak suggests that the first five-star from Sumeru may be joining the standard banner.

A leak posted to the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit features a conversation with a leaker referred to as «Uncle Chasm» who suggests he will wait for Tighnari until he «loses the 50/50.» Tighnari's suggested availability from losing a 50/50 roll on a five-star pull implies he will be joining the standard banner following his limited banner at the start of Version 3.0. Tighnari's addition to the permanent banner would be significant not only as the first new five-star to join the permanent selection in two years, but also the first Dendro character.
