Over the last couple of months, Genshin Impact has introduced an interesting pattern of placing a new character with two re-runs in one update. Banner re-runs allow players to acquire an older five-star character from the roster. For example, the ongoing Tapestry of Golden Flames banner allows players to pull for the popular Pyro bow user, Yoimiya.
Recent rumors have been hinting that Genshin Impact Version 3.0 will apparently be one week shorter than usual updates which makes sense if HoYoverse wants a new update to drop around the same day as her second anniversary. A popular leaker revealed which five-star characters will be featured on the upcoming banners.
Genshin Impact Fan Reveals Most Mained Characters In The Game
One of the most popular leakers named SaveYourPrimos has confirmed that the upcoming double banner will include re-runs for two popular characters: Zhongli and Ganyu. The game has already indirectly confirmed re-runs for 3.0 by announcing only one new five-star character named Tighnari. He will apparently be a new bow DPS character and the game's first five-star Dendro character. There is a chance that 3.0 won't be the only shorter update in the future as this could be HoYoverse's way to compensate for the three-week delay that occurred during Genshin Impact update 2.6, and this would get the game back to its usual schedule.
Previous leaks also mentioned that the first Sumeru update will apparently have three separate banners meaning that Tighnari, Zhongli, and Ganyu could receive their own limited banners. This wouldn't be the first time for an update to have three banner cycles as Genshin Impact Version 1.3 placed Xiao, Keqing, and Hu Tao in three separate parts of the update.
