An Xbox 360 fan shared photos of his collection of consoles and controllers, including several special editions decked out in alternate art or colors dedicated to a promoted game. The Xbox 360 products are in fantastic condition in the photographs, and exemplify the tradition of cosmetic variety in video game consoles.
Xbox 360 is Microsoft's second home console, released in 2005. The Xbox 360 would go on to compete with the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii in retail sales. Since then, the console has sold over 80 million units worldwide. Players can still buy Xbox 360 games through the Xbox Store.
Reddit user NeoGamerGuy posted his seven Xbox 360 consoles, with five controllers displayed in front of them. They include a blue Special Edition Call of Duty bundle, a black Xbox 360 S console (without its controller), a red Resident Evil 5 Special Edition console, a black Xbox 360 Elite, and a white Xbox 360 Elite. The collection also includes two of the Halo Xbox 360 Special Editions — the Halo 3 and Halo 4 Special Editions.
NeoGamerGuy called attention in the post to his acquisition of the red Resident Evil 5 Special Edition console, which was released in 2009. He thanked another (unnamed) Reddit user for inspiring him to seek the 120GB console out, but did not give a timeline for any of these purchases. Still, Resident Evil 5 is being recognized for the impact it has had on the franchise even 15 years after its release.
Both Halo 3 and Halo 4 Special Editions of the Xbox 360 console are featured, and their designs could not be more different. Halo 3's console is designed similar to a Spartan uniform, with military green skin and shiny gold finish on the disc tray. The Halo 4 console, on the other hand, has a transparent dark enclosure with the same design as the game's box art, with the controller sporting the same.
