Frostpunk 2 is set to launch on July 25th, 11 bit Studios announced via today’s Xbox showcase. The upcoming sequel to the survival title will release first on PC and will be a day one Game Pass release.
The team dropped a brand new trailer revealing the release date, and later shared more details in a press release. Frostpunk 2’s new trailer shows some of the depths of the post-apocalyptic abyss that will lead players into a treacherous world full of difficult and meaningful decisions that will impact everything going forward.
The sequel introduces new factions who will potentially make an impact on you, as the City’s steward, as you work to survive and shape a civilization. The Icebloods are a survivalist people, who are seeking to adapt to the environment over development. The Technocrats are, as you might guess, more on the side of making technological progress. At what cost, though? These are just two of the factions and ideas you'll encounter.
There is a standard base game available ($44.99) and a Digital Deluxe edition ($74.99), both now available for pre-order on Steam and the Microsoft store. The Digital Deluxe also grants access to a special 7-day beta coming in April that will let you test out some of the game’s sandbox mode.
In addition to the beta, Digital Deluxe will also include three post-launch DLCs, a 72 hour head start on the story mode, a digital artbook, a copy of the soundtrack, and a digital novella, “Warm Flesh”.
While Frostpunk 2 will launch first on PC, a console release is planned on Xbox and PlayStation 5.
