Turn 10 Studios has released the first post-launch update for Forza Motorsport, somewhat confusingly labelled as ‘Update 1.0’, but bringing with it a bunch of improvements for in-game progression, multiplayer matchmaking, and a smattering of bug fixes to boot.
Most significantly for the general flow of the game, the car part unlock levels have been adjusted to increase the tuning options available to players at lower car levels. Now you should be able to fully upgrade a car by the time you reach the end of a single Builders Cup series, but this will also help when heading online and facing other players who have fully levelled up a car. The grind will still be there through the ‘CarPG’ progression system, this is just rebalancing it – I was generally happy with the balance for our Forza Motorsport review, but having the ability to skip ahead would certainly be good to see.
Speaking of online, matchmaking has been adjusted as player Safety Rating and Driver Skill Ratings were sometimes not being used correctly. This should help give everyone the best experience that they deserve.
Naturally Turn 10 has sought to stamp out bugs and glitches throughout the game, so there’s plenty of stability improvements across all platforms to get rid of various game crash situations. They’ve also fixed an Xbox Series X|S bug that led to the screen looking washed out after entering the game’s Graphics menu options.
