A new early Forza Motorsport comparison video was shared online, putting the game by Turn 10 side by side with another racing game juggernaut, Polyphony's Gran Turismo 7, highlighting the visual differences between the two games.
The video, which was put together by ElAnalistaDeBits, uses the latest Forza Motorsport footage shown during this week and attempts to compare it with similar scenarios recreated in Gran Turismo 7. While Forza Motorsport seems to have the edge in several scenarios, despite it still being a few months away from release, it is really impressive what Polyphony achieved with its latest game, considering it is a cross-generation release that couldn't take full advantage of the PlayStation 5 hardware.
When it releases, there's no doubt that Forza Motorsport will be among the best-looking racing games of all time, especially on PC, where it will support ray traced global illumination. Thanks to this, the game will be able to simulate how light accumulates color as it bounces between surfaces, influencing how certain elements appear in relation to those nearby and connecting all pieces in a scene. The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions will not support ray-traced global illumination but will still support ray tracing in some form. The console versions will also support Convolution Reverb, a hardware-accelerated technique allowing superior sound reproduction.
Forza Motorsport will release on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on October 10th worldwide.
