Microsoft has revealed the titles they’ll be adding to Xbox Game Pass on PC and consoles in late June, and the lineup runs a wide gamut. The headliner is Need for Speed Unbound, the latest in the open-world racing series from developer Criterion. Other additions include Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (a remake of one of the most-beloved classic Harvest Moon titles), FIST: Forged In Shadow Torch, the new-release title The Bookwalker, and more.
Here are your headliner Game Pass titles for the next couple of weeks:
Need for Speed Unbound (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) EA Play – June 22
From Wccftech’s review – “Need for Speed Unbound is the franchise’s best entry in a decade, although the competition for that title wasn't particularly stiff. The game offers polished tech, good (if slightly dated) open-world design, and a varied array of events and challenges, but still lags behind the current open-world racer pack leaders. The fantasy of becoming an underground racing champ is also hampered by a restrictive, ill-considered progression system. Nostalgic fans will find plenty to like here, and more general players might want to consider a test drive once the game is marked down, but “need” may be a strong word to attach to Criterion’s latest.”
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (Console and PC) – June 29
“Your farming life begins in Mineral Town, a charming village surrounded by nature. You’ve returned after many years to restore your late grandfather’s farm to its former glory. Care for crops, livestock, and more as your very own story of seasons unfold.”
