Former Santa Monica Studio art director Raf Grassetti has joined The Last of Us maker Naughty Dog.
Grassetti served as principal art director on 2018’s God of War and as art director on God of War Ragnarök during a 10-year spell at Santa Monica Studio.
He left Sony last year to lead the art department of a now defunct Netflix studio, where he was working alongside the likes of ex-Overwatch executive producer Chacko Sonny and Halo veteran Joseph Staten on an original, multiplatform triple-A game until its recent closure.
In an X post on Monday, Grassetti confirmed he’s returned to Sony to start a “new chapter” at Naughty Dog, which is also the creator of the Uncharted series.
Naughty Dog studio head and creative director Neil Druckmann said in July that numerous games, including “multiple single-player projects”, were in development at the studio.
It was recently claimed that Naughty Dog’s next game will have a significant focus on player freedom, and it has been confirmed that Troy Baker will have a role in the title.
The prolific voice actor has previously starred as Joel in The Last of Us series and Sam Drake in the Uncharted franchise.
