Cyberpunk 2077 game director and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt co-director Mateusz Kanik has announced the establishment of Blank., a new video game development studio headquartered in Warsaw, Poland. He is joined by Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt executive producers Jedrzej Mroz and Marcin Jefimow. The studio is currently working on a character-driven game set in an apocalypse “with a twist or two.”
The studio’s founding staff include:
Mateusz Kanik (formerly of CD Projekt Red) – Co-Founder and Game Director Jedrzej Mroz (formerly of CD Projekt Red) – Co-Founder and Executive Producer Marcin Jefimow (formerly of CD Projekt Red, 11 Bit Studios) – Co-Founder and Executive Producer Mikolaj Marchewka (formerly of Rookiez from Warsaw S.A) – Managing Director Michal Dobrowolski (formerly of CD Projekt Red) – Design Director Artur Ganszyniec (formerly of CD Projekt Red, 11 Bit Studios) – Narrative Director Grzegorz Przybys (formerly of Division 48 Studio, Artificer) – Art DirectorThe new team is committed to “bringing beautifully crafted games and unique experiences to players, favoring novel territory rather than well-trodden ground.” The studio currently has 10 members, but is looking to expand to 60 staff to support development on its upcoming project.
