Ubisoft has announced that it will be overhauling its Ubisoft Connect PC software. Announced through a trailer, the client will be going through an in-depth update, which the company plans to test out through a beta that is slated to start rolling out this summer.
The new Ubisoft Connect PC client wants to focus on improving the usability of the software through a new interface that will, among other things, make it easier for players to find other players for games they might be interested in. The client update will also bring new features, like deeper integration with Ubisoft Connect’s streaming capabilities, allowing players to livestream games through a private link.
The display for the library of games a player owns is also going through some changes. Rather than making use of vertical assets that were a holdover from back when PC games still got physical releases on a regular basis, the client will now use new horizontal assets that make better use of the available screen space. Games will also now show their installation status, and the library is now integrated better with the Ubisoft Plus subscription.
