The new CarPlay update that comes part of iOS 17 includes brand new wallpapers. If you're interested, you can download them as well.
A surprising number of people rely on CarPlay for in-car entertainment and navigation needs. While that is what people mainly use CarPlay for, you do get the option to customize things to your liking by changing the wallpaper or by using a light or dark theme.
With iOS 17, Apple has updated the wallpaper selection in CarPlay and there are a total of 8 to choose from. Basically 4, but 4 more as they are the dark versions of the wallpaper. We'll stick with 8 as it sounds fantastic.
While these wallpapers are meant to be used in the car's infotainment system, you can download them and use it else wear, such as your phone, tablet, desktop, what have you. Packing a resolution of 2048-by-2048 pixels, it will work just fine on pretty much any device you may have, unless it's beyond 4K, then I wouldn't recommend it unless you're into fuzzy pixels.
Just click on the wallpaper you like below and download it straight to your device:
The wallpapers follow the overall theme set by iOS 17 itself. Speaking of which, you can download the official iOS 17 wallpapers as well. If you're not testing out the beta and want a taste of iOS 17 ahead of time, a combination of iOS 17 and CarPlay wallpapers is the way to go.
We are expecting iOS 17 to become available for download later this year. Right now, we don't have a concrete date. But if history has taught us something, it's that new iOS releases happen alongside a new iPhone.
