The latest entry in Sega's Football Manager franchise has been played by more than six million people.
That's according to the boss of developer Sports Interactive, Miles Jacobson, who wrote on Twitter and LinkedIn that FM24 had reached six million players in just 59 days. That's a record for the series; Football Manager 2023 was the first entry in the franchise to hit six million players and it look 284 days. That's almost four times as long.
Football Manager 2024 is available on a wide variety of platforms, of which Steam and Epic Games Store are two. It isn't clear how many players who enjoyed the title did so on PC.
Before Football Manager 2024, FM23 was the most played entry in the franchise. In a blog post last year, SI Games said that it was normal for its titles to hit around two million players, so hitting north of six million users is big news for the studio, especially at a time when Sega Europe is looking to trim any fat it can find.
