After years spent getting it off the ground, the Five Nights At Freddy's movie is finally almost here, premiering just in time for Halloween on October 27. Blumhouse has just released a brand-new trailer for the film, featuring some new footage with the extended cast--and an introduction to the movie's monstrous animatronics.
While the first trailer focused on protagonist Mike Schmidt, played by Josh Hutcherson, the latest one introduces more of the film's supporting characters, as well as going over all the animatronics by name--Foxy, Bonnie, Chica, and Freddie. Notably Springtrap doesn't get a mention, despite appearing in the trailer's closing moments.
The trailer kicks off with a brand-new scene that shows a group of young people breaking into the abandoned Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, looting and smashing up the remaining furnishings. As you might expect, this doesn't go well for them as they encounter Chica and the menacing Mr Cupcake. We also get another tantalizingly brief look at Matthew Lillard as William Afton, asking Mike to take on the Freddy's «security gig.»
Everything we've seen so far from the FNaF movie stays close to the games, from the design of the animatronic characters to the overarching lore. Five Nights At Freddy's creator Scott Cawthon has been heavily involved with the film's production, including co-writing the script with director Emma Tammi and Seth Cuddeback.
Hunger Games actor Josh Hutcherson stars as security guard Mike Schmidt, and is joined by cast members Matthew Lillard, Elizabeth Lail, Kat Conner Sterling, Piper Rubio, and Mary Stuart Masterson.
