Final Fantasy XVI: The Rising Tide story expansion is out now, which introduces the new region Mysidia. At the center of this region is the town of Haven, but when you first arrive there, it’s kind of useless. There’s no shop, no blacksmith’s foundry. Thankfully, by completing certain sidequests, you can unlock the blacksmith and shop in Haven, and you’ll want to do that, as they offer some of the best gear and craftable weapons in the game. Here’s how to do so…
To get Haven’s blacksmith back to work, you’ll need to complete the “It’s the Thought That Counts” sidequest. To get started, talk to Wyrda outside the Witanhall in Haven.
From here, all you have to do is talk to two people picking the blue flowers around the nearby pond in the middle of Haven.
Finally, return the Minwu’s Cup flowers to Pavaat, the blacksmith. In addition to him reopening the foundry, you’ll get the Reflection Of Earth accessory for completing this quickie quest.
To reopen the shop, you’ll need to complete “The Pursuit of Knowledge” sidequest. Near the foundry and what appears to be a store, talk to Bilos. He’ll ask you to find his daughter.
Go talk to the guard at the south gate, then head down the south path and then down the first path that heads off to the left. You’ll come to a pond – talk to the child next to it. This will complete the quest and the shop will now be open.
And there you have it – Haven is now a fully functional town, and a proper home base for your various adventures in Mysidia.
Final Fantasy XVI can be played on PS5. The Rising Tide is out now and can be purchased for $20 a la carte or as part FF16’s $25 Expansion Pass, which also includes the first update, “Echoes of the Fallen.” You can check out Wccftech's other Final Fantasy XVI guides here.
