Final Fantasy 14 has released Patch 6.57, which sets the stage for its open beta on Xbox, as well as offering some quality-of-life changes to help players catch up in time for Dawntrail. It's no secret that Endwalker has been the most successful Final Fantasy 14 expansion yet, doubling the game's subscriber count, and offering an enticing alternative for World of Warcraft players interested in a classical MMO experience. Endwalker finished the Hydaelyn and Zodiark saga that began in A Realm Reborn, and the slate is now clean for the next chapter of its tale.
The announcement of Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail established that the next expansion would take players on an adventure to the New World, with two new jobs becoming available at launch: Viper and Pictomancer. Dawntrail will also feature a second limited job with its Beastmaster, which is expected to be released in the latter half of the expansion. However, until the Warriors of Light set foot on Tural, Endwalker still has a lot of content to offer, especially to new players who have only begun their journey on Etheirys.
Patch 6.57 for Final Fantasy 14 was released on February 13, and Square Enix shared its official patch notes across social media. Though it's not considered a large Final Fantasy 14 content update, it comes with a few significant changes worthy of mention: the cap for Allagan Tomestones of Comedy has been doubled, the weekly loot restriction on Anabaseios (Savage) has been lifted, and Thaleia has joined the Alliance Roulette in the Duty Finder.
Another important aspect of Patch 6.57 is that it prepares Final Fantasy 14 for its Xbox launch, as the open beta for both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S will begin on February 21. A convenient benefit that Xbox players will possess is the ability to skip typing their login credentials: simply connecting their Xbox and Final Fantasy 14 accounts will allow them to directly enter the game.
