A Final Fantasy XIV modder has designed a way that allows him to use a Nerf bow and arrow to control the Archer class and Bard job. The striking MMORPG from Square Enix was among the most popular games of 2021 arguably due mostly to the latest expansion of the game called Endwalker which fans deem the best expansion yet.
Final Fantasy XIV at its core already included a beautiful environment, in-depth character customization, and a range of jobs available in a few selected classes. In the also successful previous expansion Shadowbringers, each of the 18 jobs available had their own associated quests, while Endwalker implemented five role-specific quests. Many fans prefer this method, as having so many job-specific quests left room for some to be objectively better and more interesting than others, while only having a few class-specific quests allows them all to be more equal. The Archer class allows a player to do ranged physical damage and once the story quest is completed, the fun and slightly confusing FFXIV Bard combat job is available.

FFXIV modder and content creator SuperLouis64 has developed a creative way to play the Archer class in the game using a Nerf bow and arrow (via PCGamesN). According to SuperLouis64's Twitter, he built the system using a combination of an Arduino single-board microcontroller, touch sensors, and gyroscopes. The skillful SuperLouis64 even "set up [his] own code and algorithm to detect the force of the arrow being shot.” Taking the toy arrow off of the quiver tells the board what ability is going to be used, and the board determines if the arrow has been shot and then tells the game in order to process the move.
