Platformers have been an integral part of the video game industry for decades and there are a few iconic names that immediately spring to mind when you think of them. Mario, Crash, Spyro, maybe even Croc. The plumber is still going strong, Crash continues to get remasters and even new games, and Spyro's first three games were remastered as part of a single collection. Still no love for Croc though, and now even Glover has beaten The Legend Of The Gobbos to the punch.
Glover is coming to Steam on April 20, 2022. If you've never heard of Glover, then you're probably not alone. The platformers launched on Nintendo 64 in 1998 and then on PS1 the following year. Rather than a bandicoot or a dragon, Glover has you take control of an anthropomorphic glove as you traverse 30 different levels rescuing rubber balls in an attempt to save the Crystal Kingdom.

Interactive Studios and Hasbro developed and published the original game, and it was even popular enough for there to be a sequel right before the turn of the century. Well, at least plans for a sequel as Glover 2 never actually happened. Piko Interactive bought the rights to Glover back in 2017, and next month, it will be ready to let those of you who loved it more than 20 years ago play it again on Steam.
“This version of #Glover is a completely redone from the original source code (N64 version of the game), and improved for modern PCs,” the tweet breaking the news reads. So not a remaster per se, but it should certainly play better than the original.
