Frenetic FPS roguelite Gunhead just locked in an 8th November release date, with its many implements of destruction spinning up for a PS5 launch. Get a good look at this fast-paced space pirate simulator in an aggressive new trailer.
In Gunhead, play the part of a space privateer as you board procedurally-generated space hulks protected by automated defences and cyborg constructs. The goal is to reach and destroy each ship's heavily defended central System Core and collect loot to expand your arsenal. Over 50 weapon options can be grafted to four gun slots, meaning you'll always have the tools required to take down more challenging, better-defended ships.
What do you think of Gunhead? Discuss why four is the optimal number of guns and RPG party members in the comments section below.
Khayl Adam is the second best video game journalist Australia has ever produced, and his ambitions of world domination have (thus far) been curbed by the twin siren songs of strategy games and CRPGs. He has always felt an affinity for the noble dachshund, the best kind of dog.
I'm usually not into first-person shooters, but this looks right up my alley. I get serious Mothergunship vibes from it.
@Enuo I was gonna say, this looks like nearly the exact same setup as Mothergunship. Sadly, I felt that game was a bit overwhelming. Maybe this one's power/difficulty curve will be smoother. Like the art style enough to keep an eye on it, for sure.
4? Everybody knows 3 is the magic number.
Reminds me of the PS1 days but with Borderland graphics.
